Frequently asked questions

1.  Do I have to collect my excess luggage at the arrival airport?

You can collect your luggage from the arrival airport yourself or a third party e.g. a relative, friend or forwarding agent can collect it.
Please remember that a written authorisation would be required for any third party to collect the freight on your behalf.
We offer both the handling and customs clearance for countries outside the EU. As an additional service we can arrange delivery to any part of the world that you desire. Please ask for a quotation.

2. Would my excess luggage also arrive on the baggage conveyor?

Excess baggage would be collected from the cargo area at the airport. The cargo area would be signposted.You can follow up the whereabouts of your belongings on the Internet using the consignment note number given to you.

3. Is my excess luggage in the same aeroplane as me?

Excess luggage may be transported on the same aeroplane on which you are travelling, but not necessarily.

4. How long is the transit time for my excess luggage?

Your belongings require approximately 2-3 days to be transported within Europe, however worldwide destinations would require 3-6 days.

5. Would there be any extra costs at the arrival airport?

As long as the volume weight/gross weight has been calculated correctlythere would be no further costs.

7. Is my luggage insured?

Your freight is automatically insured to a value $ 20/kg.
In addition, we offer a further insurance – within Europe 0.6‰ of the goods value and worldwide 0.8‰.

8. Would there be any custom import tax and duty to pay at the airport of arrival?

On private possessions it would not be necessary for you to pay any import duties provided that the goods do not exceed the value limits of the country of arrival. It is necessary for customs procedures to be carried out on commercial goods this can be dealt with by a forwarding agent.

9. How do I pack and label my luggage/belongings?

The goods should be packed sufficiently to prevent items being damaged or falling out and any liquid products must be prevented from spilling or leaking.
If you have flown before, you will be aware that baggage is moved around the airport and therefore surface damage cannot be avoided. Therefore should on a sure one and weeps cold packing paid attention be. However, a special airfreight packing isn't specified. Each carton must be marked with the sender and the consignee address.

10. Is there any limitation on what I can dispatch?

You may be surprised how many things may not be transported by aeroplane. You may not carry dangerous goods, ammunition and weapons, pressure vessels and of course radioactive substances. You may not carry gasses, substances containing explosive substances, chemical substances, like dyes, varnishes, solvents, batteries, fuels or gasses.
No living animals may be sent either.
At dispatch you must sign a document guaranteeing that you are not transporting any of the banned substances.
We draw your attention to the fact that you are liable for any damage which results from dangerous goods in your baggage.

11. What kind of documents do I require for the transport?

You need a comprehensive list itemising the contents of all boxes and cases in excess of the 20 kg baggage allowance. Some countries require additional documentation for commercial goods or goods of a high value.
